Its a MIDI gate-ducker that controls 4 stereo pairs, each channel has controllable envelope, gate/duck switch and a stereo insert. each channel is triggered by hitting a user settable key on the keyboard (or sequencer)

the output of all the channels can be mixed internally so you can use the device with different effects on the same signal.

although simple this device can be a lot of fun!

I was screwing around with an experimental oscillator, it is sort of a "convolver" anyways I have made a version of the transplanet with this oscillator instead, Everything else about the synth is the same as the Transplanet (morphing etc) I expect i will make some other variations of the Transplanet as well (especially one with traditional oscs and the filter from PXR5)

Q:What is a MS encoder/decoder?

It is a left-rigt to "Mid-side" or "mono-stereo" converter. It translates Left and Right signals to center(middle) and difference(side) and then back again.

Studios can record this way by using a mic pointed towards the source and another with a figure8 pattern pointed at right angles to it. They would not need an encoder, just the decoder. but it is handy to be able to encode regular stereo signals this way to be able to use the techniques associated with MS encoding.

USE:
If for instance you have a vocal or bass in the center of a mix that needs some tweaking you can eq and/or compress it without effecting the rest of the instruments as much as you would just using an EQ. or if the tails of the reverbs have an annoying frequency in them you could reduce it by EQing the side channel. There are a lot of other uses for it.
If anyone has any MS recorded source could you please test this device out on it and make sure it is correct. it has only been tested with its own encoded signal.

MS doeas not have anything to do with Micr!

Insert rack of 3 stereo insert slots with ability to change the order. 24 dB Hi&Lo filters are included after the inserts, and even on the dry mix. The input gain is completed by an effect send fader. You have different levels of presets; the "normal" preset (all the rack), setting level (all knobs/fader positions), and filter only (post ins filter). It becomes easy to save presets and choose between different settings without reloading inserts effects each time.
note : with some exceptions, "midi effects" (with midi i/o plugs) should not be loaded into insert slots of other devices. You may not have a problem, but if you do, use the insertpack_1 or "true" insert effects.
Use this XLM24 device in the Project window to midify insert effects (which have no midi i/o).

Yes, Ok, It's just a test tone generator but I needed an ultra accurate one so here it is... You can select from fixed frequencies of 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000 and 20000 Hertz. There is also a "variable" dial that overides the fixed frequency buttons for manually adjusting the frequency. A noise generator section can provide White and Pink noise which is used for room calibration or as a source for your synths!

I often find myself loading a gate, and a compressor, and an eq when recording and mixing, so why not make a "channel strip" ?

Requires Scope/Pulsar/Luna version 3, and proberly doesn't work in XTC.

If you find any bugs, please leave a message on this forum.
I'm already working on a "bigger" version, so you're welcome to make suggestions...
(Deesser, seperate bypasses, i/o meters and limiter are under consideration).

most importantly!

In the zip is a "micro3.pre" file it must be put in your "presets" folder. Otherwise you may get strange or even non working behaviour of the preset list. put the synth itself in the synths folder if you want it on your synths menu in 3.x

Please report bugs i want to get this thing done and have a scope3 device under my belt

I forgot to mention in the text. when in "comb" mode on the first filter the rez knob is backwards. (its actually the damp knob in that case)

I just made this because i have to keep opening analogx delaycalc for delays that use milliseconds, and i happened to make a delay in a synth that uses the circuit.

you can hook it up to a MIDI clock and it will work automatically, but it jumps around a bit.

I might add an averaging circuit to make it smoother if it is requested, but it will use DSP.

(edited) Since i have scope (1999) i wanted to use the FM Oscillators and get something better than my dx100. The PulseFM Synth gives you a taste to future spacef synths.
It's simple, pretty easy to edit, with wide capabilities, especially synth-pads & strings. The Blue Synth circuit allows to modulate amplitude with LFO (I use it very much on dx100) and is a pretty good dx shell (excepted the seperate adsr). The aim was not to immitate the dx100 anyway (except for one control that goes to 31).

Pulsed FM Synth is a combination of two different Pulse Oscillators (Morph, Spectral) and an FM oscillator modulated by a third pulse oscillator.

It is build inside a classic "BlueSynth" modulation circuit, with the addition of Portamento, better response to Velocity& AfterTouch, and a more vintage sounding filter.

Yu can import your sf-PulseSynth presets : the "pw" of Osc 1 will be transposed to the "PulseMod" of the PulsedFMSynth. Other controls will have to be set (FM Operator).

It is sort of a chorus effect. pretty easy to use. only 4 knobs.

When the speed is low (which is probably the most useful) it can take a few seconds to respond to changes in depth.

2 very simple yet indispensable neat little devices.
Phasefix and Phasefix-X are about the same, the -X version has a bypass for the sample delay.

Fiddling around with them, you'll find a 0-200 samples delay for each channel of the stereo path. The sample delay can be used to set a delay on designated channel, thus making up for phase off-set. Can also be used for phaser-like effect The bypass on the -x version bypasses the delay.

Mono mode sums both inputs to check for mono compatibility.

A Left and a Right button, they invert the L or R channel and mono the signal at the same time. Perfect phase signals should mute each other. If they do, you know the incoming signal is in perfect phase. If they don't mute, adjust Delays until it's as quiet as possible.

Tiny device to adjust the spread of a stereo signal from mono to extra wide. it works on 4 pairs of stereo signals, use it with delays, ducker, synth or stream outputs. midi controllable.

This can obviously be done in a mixer, but this is convenient, especially if you want to MIDI control it.

Modulated with MIDI it can give some pretty drastic psycho stereo effects. or just use it for tweaking signals.

Avoid distortion by using the filter mixer (Comb HP/BP Dry, in the middle of the synth). Massive gain available for thin bands so it can cause distortion with wider bands). The Vu meter of the "Master Volume" shows the gain at the external outputs of the synth.

Multisegment enveloppe works very well with presets. It is just the graphics that do not recall well. The "no preset" above the MseG now refers to the graphic display only.

It is a distortion you can actually dial in harmonics with.

You may wonder why the harmonic numbers can not be controlled by the joystick, it is because they are integers. this means it would just step between them and not sound smooth at all. (they are not real harmonics either, they change depending on the shape of the waveform).

Presets bass synth with some "main" controls.
I fixed some "weirdies" and added an "add velocity" control.When this control is off, the original Goofy sound is preserved, but you can add, with this control, some punch and brightness, depending of the velocity amount.
Goofy is totally extract from Supreme synth.

just assign midi controllers to the 2 knobs under each joystick

assign the same controllers to your synth.

this does not have a built in midi merger, so you will need to use one if there is other incoming data which needs to get to the synth.
